Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) invites applications from candidates who wish to work as Project Officer in its
Emergency Relief Network (ERN) project. The primary responsibility is as a responder to wildlife emergencies
arising due natural and human-induced disasters arising in different parts of India. The candidate will work in WTI’s
national headquarters in Noida, NCR under the Wild Aid division, and will report to the division Head and Principal Investigator.

Qualifications, experience and skills

• Graduate or Post-Graduate in veterinary science, with a minimum 1-3 years of hands-on
  experience in attending to animal-related emergencies and providing disaster relief
• Good working knowledge of handling, husbandry and housing of animals
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, and good interpersonal skills is a must
• Willingness to travel when required and coordinate disaster relief activities in remote
  and potentially inhospitable areas of India

Broad responsibilities

• Proactively look out for wildlife emergencies and disasters reported from different parts
  of the country and organise prompt relief measures through the Emergency Relief Network
• Maintain the ERN membership database by renewing and adding memberships, and moderate
  the online ERN Google Group
• Constantly engage with ERN members and seek updates on their animal welfare activities
  through reports, photographs, video, emails etc
• Organise animal relief camps in affected sites as required, in coordination with ERN members,
  state forest departments, central and state disaster management authorities, state animal husbandry
  and veterinary departments etc
• Ensure monitoring of ERN projects with the help of local WTI field staff, regional facilitators
  and external project investigators
• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of other ERN project components like the Hoolock
  Gibbon Translocation, Star Tortoise Rehabilitation etc
• Ensure ERN projects are regularly featured on the WTI website, ERN social media platform, and
  in local and national media outlets with the help of WTI’s Communications division
• Assist and coordinate with WTI’s Philanthropy and Planning divisions of WTI to service project
  donors and raise funds for projects
• Prepare and ensure the timely delivery of periodic reports to donors and forest departments
