 Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) invites applications from degree holders in the biological sciences, with 1-3 years of field experience, to join its Central India Tiger Habitat Securement Project based out of Nagpur, Maharashtra.

The Field Biologist is responsible for field or on-site implementation of the project under supervision and guidance of the reporting manager, and as per the technical and financial plan of the project

Broad responsibilities include

  • Conducting wildlife surveys, estimation exercises, and monitoring exercises when and where applicable
  • Generating all field reports, scientific data, photographic records, as per the Project Implementation Plan and request of the reporting manager
  • Representing WTI and the project team in relevant conferences, symposiums, stakeholder meetings and other forums
  • Managing and safeguarding all assets of the project, ensuring their maintenance and upkeep from time to time
  • Conducting or undertaking any other professional activity as delegated by the reporting manager and/or PI of project

Qualifications, experience & skills

  • Any degree in biological sciences, with a minimum 1-3 years of hands-on experience in the field
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, and good interpersonal skills are a must
