Anticipatory Bail Denied to Pataudi
New Delhi : Justice Rajive Bhalla of Punjab & Haryana High Court in Chandigarh today heard the anticipatory bail petition of Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Shashi Singh, accused in the Jhajjar black buck hunting case, but did not grant them anticipatory bail. Instead, the court directed the state government to appear before the Court on Friday,17 June with all relevant documents for another hearing.
Vineet Bajaj, Advocate appearing for the Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) was permitted by the court to argue the case. He had been briefed fully by Delhi lawyers of WTI with the legal provisions and judgments of the Supreme Court in such cases. Likewise, a lawyer of People For Animals was also permitted to argue.
WTI will now wait till Friday to obtain further documents and legal opinions to appear in court on the next date.
