Global Wildlife Fair 2025 curtain-raiser sets the stage for a first-of-its-kind event in India

New Delhi, January 11 2025The Global Wildlife Fair (GWF), in partnership with the Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) and Asian Ecotourism Network (AEN), hosted a curtain-raiser event at the India Habitat Centre, offering a glimpse into its mission to promote wildlife conservation and ecotourism while fostering global collaboration.

The evening featured compelling insights from key speakers— Mr. Mohit Aggarwal, Director of Asian Adventures, presented the objectives and highlights of the Global Wildlife Fair, Mr. Jose Louies, CEO of WTI, highlighted vital wildlife conservation efforts in India, while Mr. Masaru Takayama, Chair of the Asian Ecotourism Network, shared his expertise and perspectives on how authentic ecotourism can contribute to the understanding and conservation of wildlife. The program also included the screening of a short film and provided opportunities for lively discussions and networking among attendees.

The event set the stage for the Global Wildlife Fair which will be held in New Delhi from October 10-12, 2025. It is a pioneering platform designed to bring together a diverse array of stakeholders committed to wildlife conservation and ecotourism, including wildlife tourism operators, NGOs, community groups, private organisations, government agencies, and individuals dedicated to the cause of conservation and sustainability.

The fair also aims to engage youth, encouraging them to explore careers in wildlife conservation and responsible tourism. By supporting vital conservation projects, fostering new initiatives, and recognising excellence through awards, the Global Wildlife Fair aims to inspire action, protect biodiversity, and uplift communities deeply connected to nature.

Mr. Masaru Takayama, Chair of the Asian Ecotourism Network said, “For many years ecotourism has been playing a vital role in providing jobs and utilizing wildlife for education and interpretation, but at the same time many unsustainable actions were adversely affecting wildlife. The GWF will bring the stakeholders together to discuss and help take action to remedy the situation.
